[So it's been a few weeks...but Rei's definitely had a bit more spring in her step after those two nights in the shrine. And with Ami gone, she's been staying at home a bit more to make sure Hajime and Minako don't burn the house down.

And one evening, after Hajime goes to bed, Rei and Minako find themselves sitting in the living room. Rei's reading...but she keeps lazily looking up at the ceiling, thinking about a lot of things, including her girlfriend, her best friend, a certain dream shifter...and a lot of other stuff she doesn't usually think about. Minako...is doing Minako things.

And Rei finally just decides to fish for a bit more info on how Minako really felt about Fenimore. And maybe talk about events past. Maybe.]

So, Minako-chan...how's the hunt going?

[Minako in the meantime is catching up on some mangas she found in the library. (At least the giant talking owl is somewhat understanding, but anyway...) When Rei asks a question out of the blue, Minako blinks dumbstruck for a moment talking quietly to herself.] ...The hunt?

[There's a smile tilting her head back to Rei, assuming she's sitting behind Minako.] Well, it's progressing just.... not fast enough, you know? [She even sticks out a playful tongue.]

You know what they say, there's plenty of fish in the tank.

The sea.

[It's a gentle correction, really. But one necessary all the same. She does sort of want to know though, just who Minako has been going after.]

Are you...seriously...pursuing someone here yet?

Seriously?

[There's a sigh first before she responds. A lot happened back home which Rei isn't up the date with. On top of that, Artemis isn't around to relief her stress. As the thought of joking, well... it just doesn't feel right. She responds calmly bored.]

I dunno. Sure it'd be nice. Why.... don't tell me... [Leer.] You want to set me up on a blind date.

[Okay, maybe a little joke.]

[Rei, in fact, is not out of date. She hasn't experienced it properly...but Neo Queen Serenity and several shifts have caught her up to the Starlights. Smiling at the joke, though, Rei shakes her head.]

I don't spend time with many boys here. I have some guy friends...but they're more like uncles to me. And then there's papa. But I know a few girls who might be intrigued.

You should try sometime, some of them... well, let's just say it's like back to school with a monster mash.

[As in weirdo-above-humanoid super powers. Oh? That last part grabs Minako's attention enough to roll her body upright to face Rei properly. Did she hear that right?] Papa?

[Minako...you have weirdo above human powers too.

At the question though, Rei stops and honestly has to think. Had she not mentioned this before.]

I think you missed that minor detail. It's not the same papa from back home, right?

That man is not my father. [She says that sharply, wanting to make sure that's perfectly clear.]

But there's a man here who's...like...what I feel a father should be. He was my father, for a while. Have you met Helios? [Note: there is no san there. She really thinks of him as family.]

[Crystal clear. Just had to make sure.]

No, I haven't had the chance to meet him yet. What's he like? [Incoming roll of questions.]

He's probably the kindest man I've ever met. He accepted me and the fact that my romantic interests are a little...different. And he's the one that taught me magic. In...a lot of ways, I think it's everything I could've wanted in a father.

So he's open minded, that's good. Sometimes, it's hard to find parents like that. Like my mom... [Rolling the eyes.]

Your mother's had problems with you and...liking girls?

Well... it wouldn't surprise me if she did.

Do...you like girls?

[This is new territory, they haven't talked on this before!]

Then why would your mom care?

Because that's how she is. She made a fuss of me going out late. Then there was that one time she made a fuss when looking through a magazine. There was also that time I snuck out to avoid all that. Boy, did I get an earful later.

That just sounds like a concerned mother...

A concerned mother that doesn't value her daughter's freedom.

[A long suffering sigh...]

So, did...you and Hajime-kun manage to have a good time while I was out?

[Just be glad you don't have a mother.]

We managed, and lived. [Laughs quietly. Now comes the suspicious leer with a grin.] And how about you two?

[Minako...don't let her catch you even thinking that...]

We...had a...really...really nice time.

Oh? [Is that the sound of a doubt?] A nice time doing what exactly?

[It's like she's trying to pierce your soul.]

We…um…[Rei trails off, her face now completely red, tongue twisted up with pleasant memories and a desire to just crawl under a rock and die from embarrassment. Good Job, Minako, you have managed to break her.]
